A dysfunctional family is forced begrudgingly into an instant reunion when they have to move their father's grave due to construction. Hye-yeong receives a letter of notification that her father's grave should be forcibly removed due to modernization projects. Hye-yeong and the sisters are gathered in a long time, but only the brother cannot be reached easily.

Grave of the Fireflies is a 1988 Japanese animated war film written and directed by Isao Takahata and produced by Studio Ghibli, based on the 1967 semi-autobiographical short story Grave of the Fireflies by Akiyuki Nosaka. Set in the city of Kobe, Japan, it tells the story of siblings and war orphans Seita and Setsuko, and their desperate struggle to survive during the final months of the Pacific War.
