Pour payer la rançon de son fiancé retenu en otage, la célèbre pianiste et baronne Caroline Dulac, a dû voler un oeufs Fabergé dans un musée de San Francisco. Les kidnappeurs lui demandent ensuite de prendre l'avion en direction de Ladera au Mexique. Pendant le vol, elle fait la connaissance de Mike Chambers, un homme plutôt bourru et sans gêne.
