The story is built around the "Charles' Aunt" theme and is wonderfully festive. In a large villa in Ordrup live manufacturer Nelsøe, his wife and their young daughter Else. Else has been let down by her sweetheart, so Else is in crisis. So mother and father hire a young girl of the same age in the house "with a family position" to get Else in a better mood.
